黄金分割线的特性是等比数列不断循环的一致等分，是用来寻找趋势发展的阻力与支撑位置。由于它的特性是无限延伸的，所以也就决定了它只能做为辅助工具，而不能做为判断趋势的主要工具。因为现实上，行情的趋势不可能永远延伸，而是上上下下，起起伏伏的。
那黄金分割应该怎么用呢？

在这本书中，斐波那契以兔子的繁殖为例提出一种有趣的数列，用数学语言表述就是该数列任何一个数字都是前两个数字之和，也就是1 1 2 3 斐波那契水平预测趋势的回撤 5 8 13 21 44 ······这个数列最奇妙的地方在于，如果用前一个数字除以后一个数字，随着数字的增大，结果越来越接近黄金分割比例0.6180339887······，于是该数列又被称为黄金分割数列。

自然界一切生物都是以细胞分裂为繁殖方式，一分为二，我们想当然的觉得任何生物都应该是对称的，可是数学上的一分为二最终形却得到了符合黄金分割的形状。现在重点来了，投机交易的复利增长也是一种繁殖，你现在知道为什么世界上交易大师的年平均增长率都是百分之三十几了吧？因为自己的生物属性，人类对于美的认识都是基于对称和黄金分割的，任何不符合对称和黄金分割的东西都会显得很突兀，很难感受到美。
